Biography

Originally from Mainz, Germany, Kati studied Drama and Theatre Arts with a focus on writing at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland.

After graduating, she spent several years in London, where she developed a passion for analogue photography and darkroom printing.

In 2005, Kati moved to Mexico, working as a language teacher and translator while immersing herself in classical guitar, singing, and stage work.

Drawn to a closer connection with nature, she later relocated to the countryside, where she shifted her creative focus toward visual art and illustration.

Over the years, her illustration practice has developed into a professional path, including commissions for local entrepreneurs and institutions, exhibitions, and the sale of her work through galleries, design and book shops.

Kati’s work is deeply influenced by her experiences living in different cultures, the vibrant environment of Oaxaca, and her lifelong love of storytelling in all its forms.
