Originally from Mainz, Germany, Kati studied Drama and Theatre Arts with a focus on writing at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. After graduating, she spent several years in London, where she developed a passion for analogue photography and darkroom printing.

In 2005, Kati migrated to Mexico, working as a language teacher and translator while immersing herself in classical guitar, singing, and stage work. Drawn to a closer connection with nature, she later relocated to the countryside, where she shifted her creative focus toward visual art and illustration.

Since then, Kati has provided illustrations and designs to Mexican entrepreneurs and institutions, participated in exhibitions, and sold her work through local galleries, boutiques and book shops. She also collaborates internationally with self-publishing authors to create illustrations, cover design and interior layout for books.

Kati’s work is deeply influenced by her experiences living in different cultures, the vibrant environment of Oaxaca, and her lifelong love of storytelling in all its forms.
